Your project, on time, on budget, with unsurpassed quality

At Hartman-Cox Architects, we have been dedicated to creating attractive and sustainable designs for the public realm for over fifty years. Established in 1965, our Washington, D.C.-based firm has built a reputation for delivering award-winning, imaginative, and responsible architectural solutions for institutional, educational, and civic clients. Our team of four partners - Mary Kay Lanzillotta, FAIA, Lee Becker, FAIA, Graham Davidson, FAIA, and Scott Teixeira, FAIA - work closely together in a highly collaborative environment, ensuring that each project receives the attention and expertise it deserves.

Our Approach

At Hartman-Cox Architects, we believe that successful design is a result of a deep understanding of the site and context, coupled with stylistic flexibility. This approach has allowed us to create buildings that are not only appropriate for their surroundings but also functionally sound. We take pride in our ability to produce designs that respond sensitively to their environment while maintaining our commitment to sustainability, economy, and social responsibility.

Awards and Recognition

Over the years, Hartman-Cox Architects has been the recipient of over 140 design awards, including six American Institute of Architects Honor Awards, the Louis Sullivan Award for Architecture, the 2006 Arthur Ross Award for Architecture, and the American Institute of Architects Architectural Firm Award.
