Our Mission

Children First Montessori Preschool was founded in 1992 with a vision to provide the greater Bangor area with a nurturing and enriching Montessori-based early childhood education program. We are deeply committed to fostering a love of learning in each child, recognizing that every child is unique and possesses their own innate talents and abilities. Our school serves as a vibrant community where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace in a prepared environment designed to nurture their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development.

About the Montessori Method

At the heart of our preschool lies the renowned Montessori Method, a time-tested educational philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 20th century. Dr. Montessori, a pioneering Italian physician and educator, meticulously observed children and designed an approach that celebrates the natural curiosity and desire to learn inherent in every child. Our Programs

Children First Montessori Preschool offers a comprehensive program for children from eight weeks to four years of age. Our carefully structured curriculum is designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group, encompassing essential areas such as language development, math, science, art, music, and practical life skills. We believe strongly in the importance of play as a crucial element of learning, and our program incorporates ample opportunities for imaginative play, both indoors and outdoors.
