St. Stephen's Nursery School has been a cornerstone of early childhood education in Fairview, PA since 1968. Established as a church pre-school by St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, we are a private academic school licensed through the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Our mission is to provide the best possible preschool experience for your child in small classes with a low teacher to child ratio.

Our qualified, caring, and experienced early childhood teachers create an atmosphere where the values of respect, responsibility, and camaraderie are practiced. We emphasize challenge, goal setting, communication, exploration, awareness, and acceptance of each child's uniqueness. Our learning-through-play environment is tailored for this fast-paced world, focusing on large and small muscle development, art experiences, nature study, cooking, working with manipulatives, science exploration, rhythms, and movement. We build skills in mathematics, language arts, and handwriting while incorporating everyday values and morals.

At St. Stephen's Nursery School, we use the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies throughout all of our classrooms. The teaching staff consists of certified teachers with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early /Elementary Education, all of whom are required to complete additional course work annually. All staff have CPR/First-Aid certification. We are proud to be a NUT-FREE school, ensuring a safe environment for all children.

Our Programs

We offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of your family:

• T/Th 3's: A class for children who are three years old, meeting twice a week.
• Pre-K Counts!: A state-funded program for eligible three and four-year-olds, offering learning opportunities at no cost to families.
• Pre-K Full Day (1): A full-day program for four-year-olds, providing a comprehensive learning experience.
• Pre-K Full Day (2): An additional full-day program for four-year-olds, offering flexibility for families seeking extended learning hours.
