Roughrider Electric

Roughrider Electric Cooperative is a North Dakota electric utility that distributes power to members in Billings, Dunn, Mercer, Oliver, Stark, and Golden Valley counties. Our offices are located in Hazen and Dickinson, ND. We serve over 8,000 members and provide electricity to more than 14,000 meters. As a cooperative, we are owned by the members we serve and governed by an elected nine-member Board of Directors.

We purchase power through Upper Missouri Generation & Transmission Cooperative in Sidney, MT. Our power suppliers are Basin Electric Power Cooperative and Western Area Power Administration. We are part of the nationwide network of electric cooperatives known as Touchstone Energy.

Our Services

We offer a range of services to our members, including heating assistance programs, outage reporting, and payment options. We also provide educational resources on energy savings, safety, and community involvement. Our members have access to rebates for heat pumps and capital credits. Additionally, we offer loan options through Operation Round Up and scholarships for community youth.

Safety and Community

Safety is our top priority. We provide resources on farm safety, generator safety, and storm preparedness. We also support local community events and initiatives through our Youth Tour and Community Tree Planting Program. Our goal is to ensure that our members receive reliable electricity while promoting safety and community development.
