Maple Run Veterinary Clinic LLC is a well-established veterinary practice serving the Mt Gilead, OH community and the surrounding areas. Since our inception in 1978, we have been dedicated to providing the highest level of veterinary medicine, combined with friendly and compassionate service. Our team of highly trained and experienced animal lovers treats every patient as if they were our own pet, giving them the same loving attention and care.

Our History

Maple Run Veterinary Clinic LLC was established in 1978 by Dr. Martha V. Mooney, whose family has been making and selling maple syrup since the late 1800s. The name "Maple Run" was chosen to tie in Dr. Mooney's family farm, Pleiades Ltd., to her practice. The original practice was located at 215 E. Union Street within the Mount Gilead corporation limits. In 1984, Dr. Mooney and her husband designed and built the current location on the corner of State Route 61 and Township Road 115, to fulfill Dr. Mooney's father's dream to have her veterinary clinic located on the family farm.

Our Services

At Maple Run Veterinary Clinic LLC, we offer a wide range of services, including preventative care, dental care, surgery, and internal medicine. Our preventative care services include routine physical examinations, vaccinations, and parasite prevention. We provide comprehensive dental care, including teeth cleaning, extractions, and oral surgery. Our surgical services include soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. Our internal medicine services include diagnostic testing, such as blood work, urinalysis, and imaging, as well as treatment for a variety of conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis.

Meet Our Veterinary Team

Our veterinary team is led by Dr. Martha V. Mooney, who has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 30 years. Dr. Mooney is the owner and founder of Maple Run Veterinary Clinic. She graduated from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978 and returned to her hometown of Mount Gilead, Ohio to open her veterinary clinic. Dr. Mooney is married, has one daughter, and is the proud owner of three dogs and two cats. She is an avid Ohio State fan and is active at her church.

Our practice manager, Allegra Mooney-Waldron, CVPM, has been active in veterinary medicine her entire life and has officially worked in the practice since 1995. Allegra became the practice manager in 2005 and holds a degree in education from Malone University. In 2019, Allegra earned the Certified Veterinary Practice Manager designation. She lives with her husband and is owned by seven dogs and three cats, all of whom are named after hot peppers and candies. In her free time, Allegra enjoys spending time with her family and pets.
