Our focus is on preventive care, which helps children develop good habits that result in a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime. We value and appreciate the trust that parents place in us and consider it a privilege to treat children.
Meet the Doctor
Dr. Carla Guzman Stappenbeck is a highly qualified and experienced Board Certified Pediatric Dentist who grew up in Virginia. She earned her bachelor's degree from Harvard University and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland. She then completed a prestigious residency program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Carla gained extensive experience treating people with special needs and medically compromised patients during her residency. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Carla enjoys practicing in the Pooler community and is excited about becoming active in the community. She lives with her husband, Charles, and their three adorable children and two active German Shepherds.
Why Choose a Pediatric Dentist?
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Carla has completed two additional years of specialized training (residency) after dental school. She is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years, including those with special health care needs. As a Board Certified pediatric dentist, she has undergone rigorous written and oral exams that demonstrate specialized knowledge and skill. She must complete yearly continuing education requirements to stay up-to-date with developments in technology and patient care.
Choosing a pediatric dentist over a general dentist who treats children offers many benefits. A pediatric dentist has the experience and training to make your child's dental visit a positive and fun experience. They can manage children's behavior and make them feel comfortable during the dental appointment. Additionally, pediatric dentists have the knowledge and skills to treat children's dental issues that general dentists may not have.
