At Kolbert Building, we're dedicated to building homes that not only provide comfort and beauty but also support their inhabitants while being environmentally responsible. For over two decades, we've been constructing new homes and renovating old ones, focusing on efficiency, durability, and simplicity. Our commitment to good design and controlling heat, weather, moisture, and drafts ensures that our homes last for generations. Our Services

We offer a range of services, including new construction, renovation, and additions. Our new construction projects focus on building efficient shells with excellent air and weather sealing, using healthy and low-carbon materials, and minimizing concrete. For renovations, we improve energy efficiency, functionality, or comfort by adding space or enhancing existing homes. We also specialize in high-performance projects that reduce energy usage, improve comfort, and manage water and humidity. Additionally, we have expertise in restoring historic homes, safely mitigating and removing lead paint, and re-creating or repairing historic details.

Our Capabilities

With years of experience in the Portland area, we have worked on buildings from the 18th through the 21st centuries. We have repaired and renovated homes designed by prominent architects from long ago and build the designs of many of today's best. Our team, including General Manager Dan Kolbert and Lead Carpenter Josh Blye, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every project.

Locations We Serve

We primarily serve the greater Portland area, including Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, South Portland, Portland, Falmouth, Cumberland, and Yarmouth. While we focus on local projects, we're happy to refer work to similarly minded colleagues if a job is outside our service area.
