Scherzo Music School was established in the year 2000 with a vision to provide quality music education to the San Francisco Bay Area. Our mission is to make music education accessible to all, regardless of age, level, or background, and to foster a lifelong love and appreciation of music. We believe that music can be taught and learned at any age, and that every student deserves a well-rounded, goal-oriented education that includes music theory, proper technique, and artistry.

At Scherzo Music School, we are committed to providing structured lessons that are tailored to each student's unique needs. We employ a variety of teaching methods to ensure that every student is able to learn in the way that works best for them. Our highly qualified teachers come from a variety of professional music schools and have a strong music background. As accomplished musicians, they are committed to their art, their mission as educators, and as performers.

Our Services

Scherzo Music School offers weekly individual and online lessons for students of all ages and levels of musical experience. We offer lessons in a variety of instruments, including piano, violin, voice, flute, recorder, harp, cello, viola, oboe, saxophone, clarinet, and theory. Our experienced teachers use various teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student and family.

In addition to individual lessons, we offer our Music/Piano Discovery program for children between 3 and 5.5 years old. This program provides a solid foundation in music in a fun and challenging environment. In October 2020, we also launched the "Musica Maravillosa" program in Spanish.

Through our partner site, we also offer instrument rentals for Violin, flute, clarinet, trumpet, oboe, trombone, viola, cello, guitar, and ukulele. We welcome private teachers to rent a safe space to host online music classes at our studio.

At Scherzo Music School, we believe that music education should be accessible to all. That's why we offer performance and standardized testing opportunities, as well as internal and external competition opportunities. These opportunities provide students with a clear objective to work towards, allowing them to see their progress, achieve their goals, and stay motivated.

We are committed to promoting a lifelong love and appreciation of music to those we meet. Our vision for the future is to play an integral role in bringing music into your home to share with your friends and family. We are working towards opening additional locations, adding new programs, expanding our outreach, increasing our online lessons and programs, growing our rental program, building on our current lessons program, growing our online store offerings, and simply making it as easy as possible for you to have music be a part of your life.
