Our privilege to take care of you and yours

The Stewarts of Eckols Funeral Home are the fourth generation of this family-owned business, operating since 1886. We conduct our business as counselors for funeral services, not salesmen for burial plots. Our experience and commitment enable us to guide people through their decisions and help them cope with grief and acceptance. With three licensed funeral directors on staff and a combined 100 plus years of experience, our bilingual staff assists you in creating a personalized service, allowing family and friends to come together to support each other and celebrate a life that has been lived.

Facts About Funerals

Legal requirements when a death occurs include contacting local law enforcement if the death was unattended. A determination of death must be made by a coroner, Justice of the Peace, or attending physician. When a death occurs out of state or country, it is recommended to contact a funeral director in your local area, who will know the requirements that must be met if a body is to be shipped to another location. There are legal limitations regarding solicitation by a funeral director at or near the time of death. Solicitation means any direct or indirect contact with the family, next of kin, or one who has custody of a person who is deceased or near death for the purpose of securing the right to provide funeral services or merchandise for the deceased or person near death.
