Our Beginnings and Philosophy

The Petaluma Parent Nursery School (PPNS) has been nurturing the minds and hearts of young learners in Petaluma for over 76 years. Founded in 1947, we are a co-operative preschool where children learn through play and exploration, while parents partner with us to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Our Approach to Learning

Drawing on research emphasizing child-centered learning, our program offers an atmosphere rich in play-based activities. We believe that children learn best when given the freedom to explore their surroundings, choose their own activities, and discover new concepts through their natural curiosity.

Our Curriculum

Through daily experiences, our children explore:
