Our Staff

Our staff is led by Dr. John LeGat, who is full body certified in Active Release Techniques (ART) and one of the few Chiropractors in Oregon to be certified in the McKenzie method of mechanical diagnosis and therapy. With over two decades of experience in practicing "ART, " Dr. LeGat has helped numerous patients recover from injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents, work accidents, repetitive overuse, and everyday life. He has also received extensive training in rehabilitation medicine and sports medicine, making him a well-rounded and knowledgeable healthcare provider.

Dr. LeGat has a passion for working with athletes and currently treats many elite and recreational athletes in various sports such as track and field, swimming, Olympic weight-lifting, bodybuilding, golf, water-skiing, snowboarding, and skiing, among others. He is also the local chiropractor for several Olympic athletes, including the current gold medalist in the decathlon, Ashton Eaton, and his wife, Brianne Thiessen, an outstanding heptathlete. In addition to his work as a chiropractor, Dr. LeGat is a guest lecturer for the Neurospine Institute and has been teaching at Lane Community College since 1995.

At Hands On Health Care, we offer a wide range of chiropractic and massage services, including:

• Diversified Chiropractic Technique: This is a hands-on approach that involves a manual adjustment of the spine and other joints to correct misalignments and improve function.
• Sports and Deep Soft Tissue Massage: This type of massage is designed to help athletes prepare for and recover from sporting events by reducing muscle tension, improving circulation, and enhancing flexibility.
• Instrument Assisted Myofascial Release: This technique uses a tool to apply pressure and stretch to the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, to improve mobility and reduce pain.
• Sports Taping: We use athletic tape to support and stabilize joints and muscles, allowing for improved movement and reduced pain.
• McKenzie and Active Release Techniques (ART) Certified: Dr. LeGat is certified in both the McKenzie method and ART, which are specialized techniques used to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions.

At Hands On Health Care, we believe in a holistic approach to healthcare and will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan that meets your unique needs. We are currently not accepting any new patients with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, or Kaiser Permanente.
