The Crown Act

Davette is a strong advocate for the Crown Act, which seeks to make it illegal to discriminate against natural hairstyles at work, at school, and in all government institutions and organizations. We are proud to have contributed to making natural hairstyles legal in all branches of the US Military and are working towards getting the Crown Act approved in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and US Territories.

Davette is an award-winning natural hairstyles specialist who has dedicated her career to serving those with specific natural hairstyle needs. She has made a unique and celebrated career catering to the natural hairstyle needs and dress code requirements of men and women of color serving in the military. Davette has been recognized in CNN's Great Big Story series Shine called "Locs for Liberty" and is featured in the New York Times and the San Antonio Express-News.
