Our History and Mission

Tyson Furniture has been a part of the Black Mountain community since May 1946, when Alfred "Bub" and Betty Tyson first opened its doors. Today, the store still occupies the same building, but has grown into one of the largest and finest furniture stores in the Carolinas. Our mission is to provide high-quality furniture at a considerable discount from suggested retail prices, backed by friendly and courteous service. We pride ourselves on our reputation for fair and honest dealings and our ability to minimize costs through efficient operations.

Our Services

We offer in-home delivery on our trucks to all of North Carolina, South Carolina, parts of Tennessee, and Georgia. If you are outside these delivery zones, we can schedule an in-home delivery with one of our trusted 3rd party delivery vendors. Our experienced crews handle all deliveries to ensure that your furniture arrives safely at your doorstep.

Dianne Sohl, Dani Hartrum, and Sarah Moore are all passionate about design and customer satisfaction. They can assist you in selecting the perfect furniture for your home, whether you prefer Contemporary, Minimalist, French Country, or any other style.
