Our Story

Sky Printing of Marshall has been an integral part of the local business community for over three decades. It all began in 1990 with Gail and Nancy Schipansky, entrepreneurs with a passion for quality printing. Fueled by Gail's experience in the printing industry, which included stints at the Marshall newspaper and a local printing company, Sky Printing was born in their farmhouse just two miles east of Marshall on Highway 19. Starting with humble beginnings and a single-color press, the Schipanskys' dedication to exceptional service and client satisfaction quickly established them as a reliable source for printing needs in the area.

With the acquisition of a Heidelberg Kord, Sky Printing expanded its capabilities, allowing for larger sheet sizes and the introduction of multi-color printing. As the company grew, so did its reputation, attracting a diverse clientele and solidifying its position as a trusted name in Marshall's printing landscape. The name "Sky Printing" was thoughtfully chosen, derived from the last three letters of the Schipanskys' last name, paying homage to their roots while signifying the company's aspirations to reach new heights.

Continuing the Legacy

In 2013, a new chapter unfolded for Sky Printing as Gail and Nancy sold the company to Jim and Tamie Williams, owners of Universal Speedy Print in Willmar. This acquisition marked a significant turning point, allowing Sky Printing to leverage the expanded resources and expertise of Universal Speedy Print to better serve its growing clientele. While Gail retired, Nancy stayed on, ensuring a smooth transition and providing invaluable insights to the Williams family.

In August of 2019, Pete and LeRae Rengel, proprietors of Rengel Printing in St. Cloud, acquired both Universal Speedy Print and Sky Printing. This strategic move further strengthened the company's capabilities and fueled its growth, fostering a collaborative environment between experienced professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional printing solutions.

Today, Sky Printing stands proud in its new location at 700 E Erie Road in Marshall, continuing to uphold the legacy of its founders while embracing innovative technologies and industry best practices.
