A Vision of Interplay and Connection
My lens is a storyteller, capturing the interplay of structures, forms, and life in all its diverse expressions. I find beauty in both grand vistas and intimate moments, seeking to reveal the intricate details that bind nature, humanity, and the natural world.
Exploring Relationships and Landscapes
Through my work, I explore the relationships between people, places, and the environment. I capture the essence of a place, revealing its unique character and hidden stories. My images celebrate the connection between the natural world and the human experience, drawing viewers into the heart of each scene.
A Lifelong Journey with the Lens
My passion for the natural world began in my childhood, nurtured by the vast landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and the towering ponderosa pines of eastern Washington. This fascination led me to pursue a degree in geology, which I later complemented with a deep-seated love for photography.
My photographic journey started with humble Kodak Instamatic snapshots, evolved through twin-lens reflex lenses, and eventually culminated in the precision of a professional-grade 35mm camera. Today, I embrace the digital age, using a Canon 50D to capture the world in all its vibrant colors and evocative light.
Accolades and Recognition
My work has been recognized with national and international awards, published in esteemed publications like National Geographic Maps and featured in prominent travel magazines. I am also honored to have shared my vision through teaching photography workshops and educational articles.
