Founded in 1971 by Robert H. Ramsay, we have maintained a steadfast commitment to our clients and their investment goals. Our firm conducts its own investment research and is not affiliated with a broker or dealer. We pride ourselves on our time-honored approach to investment management, which has consistently delivered solid long-term investment performance.

Our team of portfolio managers includes four Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designees who have more than 25 years of investment experience. The CFA designation is globally recognized and attests to a charterholder's success in a rigorous and comprehensive study program in the field of investment management and research analysis. Our experienced team knows the importance of adopting a successful approach to ensure that our clients achieve their investment goals.

Our firm has two locations, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and in Princeton, New Jersey, and we serve clients nationwide.

Our History

The cornerstone of our investment philosophy was shaped by our firm's inspiring founder, Robert H. Ramsay, whose passion was working with individuals' investments and establishing long-term client relationships. Known for his wisdom and expertise as a portfolio manager, Ramsay was sought out for advice on personal and professional matters. He was also a valued civic leader, serving on the boards of numerous local non-profit organizations.

In 1971, Ramsay founded his own investment firm, Robert H. Ramsay Financial Services, in the same building where we still conduct our business today. He possessed a vision for the firm's longevity from its very beginning and had a knack for attracting outstanding individuals to his team.

Over the years, Ramsay hired several talented individuals who shared his values and vision for the firm, including Steven R. Vela, Frederick B. Stattman, Philip S. Price, and John W. Herdje. In 1997, he tasked Stattman, Vela, and Price with formulating a plan for taking over ownership of the business, and when the trio shared their proposal with him, he amicably accepted their plan.

In 2009, John W. Herdje joined the firm as managing director of the firm's Princeton, New Jersey office, bringing with him great depth of experience in managing investments for individuals, trusts, and private foundations.
