Our experienced team, led by Dr. Christopher Schmitt, is dedicated to helping you achieve optimal foot and ankle health. Our Doctor
Dr. Christopher Schmitt is a highly trained and experienced foot and ankle surgeon. He was born and raised in Irving, Texas, and graduated from high school with honors. He then attended the University of Tennessee-Martin, where he majored in biology and minored in chemistry. After graduating Magna Cum Laude, he taught anatomy at Jackson State Community College for a year before moving to Des Moines, Iowa, to attend the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University.
Dr. Schmitt completed his residency training at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, where he received extensive training in foot and ankle surgery, including minimally invasive surgery, arthroscopy, reduction of bunion deformities, and flatfoot reconstruction. He is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, Primary Care in Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Schmitt is married and has four beautiful daughters. He enjoys gardening, beekeeping, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.

Our Location
Southern Star Foot and Ankle is located in Suite 120 of 1441 South Midlothian Parkway in Midlothian, Texas. We are behind InterBank next to Baylor - Midlothian. Our office is easily accessible from major highways, and there is plenty of parking available.
Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of inclement weather, Southern Star Foot and Ankle follows the Midlothian ISD's closure policy. If the Midlothian ISD is closed, our office will also be closed. We encourage our patients to check the Midlothian ISD's website or social media pages for updates on school closures.
