Meet the Owners: Dawa & Tashi Sherpa

The Himalayan Bistro is the brainchild of Dawa and Tashi Sherpa. Dawa grew up in the village of Mera in the lower Solukhumbu Valley of Nepal and began his career as a porter for climbing and trekking expeditions at the age of 15. Tashi is from the small village of Ringmo in the lower Solukhumbu Valley and owns a popular tea house that welcomes trekkers from around the world. In 2012, Dawa and Tashi were married and opened the Himalayan Bistro in 2016.

The Himalayan Bistro is not only a reflection of Dawa and Tashi's rich culinary heritage but is also a testament to their love for the Himalayas. As the owners of the award-winning Mt. Everest Cafe, Dawa and Tashi have established themselves as pillars of the Northern Colorado community. The Himalayan Bistro is a dream come true for this dynamic duo as they share their rich culture and love for cooking with their adopted home.
