Eastwood Towing

Eastwood Towing, Inc. was founded in 1933 in Waterbury, CT, by William (Bill) O. Messer. Initially, Bill ran a small repair shop and later expanded his services by purchasing a tow truck. This was a time when repair shops were scarce, and the need for towing services was on the rise. Soon after, Bill became a contractor with the American Automobile Association (AAA), making Eastwood Towing one of the first AAA service providers in the nation. Consequently, the company began providing services to local and state police departments, establishing a solid foundation for the business.

In the early 1950s, Bill's son, Charlie, joined the company, sharing his father's passion for auto mechanics and towing. Together, they grew the business through their relentless dedication, working day and night. In 1985, Charlie's son Jim, who had developed a strong interest in the family business from a young age, began his journey at Eastwood Towing, starting from the ground up. Jim's academic background includes a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in business, which he utilized to manage the business end of Eastwood while simultaneously working in the higher education field.

In 1984, when Charlie fell ill, Jim left his career to take over the family business and continue its growth. With his wife Patricia, Jim has been successfully running Eastwood Towing since Charlie's passing in the mid-1990s. Over the years, the business has evolved into a multi-service, diversified Towing & Transport company, catering to the motoring public, commercial businesses, and state and local police agencies. Today, Eastwood Towing boasts a large fleet of 18 trucks and 4 trailers, all operated by highly qualified, insured, licensed, trained, certified, professional staff who take pride in being part of the premier towing and transport service in the area.
