Clay R. Dorsey, AIA, NCARB - Principal In-Charge

At the helm of Dorsey Architects Inc. is Mr. Clay R. Dorsey, the firm's founder and president. A licensed architect in Alabama and 12 other states, Mr. Dorsey brings over 26 years of project management experience to the table. He has a proven track record of successfully managing a diverse portfolio of projects, including aviation projects, commercial developments, K-12 schools, and institutional facilities.

As the principal in-charge, Mr. Dorsey is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm's operations, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. He plays a vital role in program communication, keeping clients informed and facilitating effective meetings to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives. Mr. Dorsey also coordinates the efforts of the architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams, ensuring that each discipline integrates seamlessly to create a cohesive and functional design.

Mr. Dorsey is a graduate of Tuskegee University, holding both a Bachelor and a Master of Architecture from the School of Architecture and Engineering. His commitment to professional development is reflected in his memberships with the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and the National Organization of Minority Architects. He is also a former member of the International Associate of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Wesley Henry - Project Manager

Mr. Wesley Henry brings three decades of experience in architectural design and project management to Dorsey Architects Inc. His expertise encompasses every phase of the project lifecycle, from initial concept development to final project close-out.

Mr. Henry's diverse portfolio includes projects in various sectors, including aviation, commercial, K-12 schools, institutional, medical, and residential. He is responsible for leading design efforts, ensuring that client visions are translated into tangible realities. Mr. Henry also coordinates the dissemination of information and meticulously oversees the production and coordination of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering drawings and specifications. His keen eye for detail ensures that each project adheres to stringent building codes while simultaneously meeting the unique needs of the client.

A graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Architecture, Mr. Henry is a valuable asset to the Dorsey Architects team, consistently delivering exceptional results.

Alan Wisdom, Architect - Project Manager

Mr. Alan Wisdom brings over four decades of experience in architecture, planning, and construction to Dorsey Architects Inc. His extensive background spans multiple sectors, including governmental service at all levels - federal, state, county, and municipal - where he primarily served as a project manager on a wide range of assignments.

Mr. Wisdom's impressive credentials include licensure as an architect in Alabama (license # 2061), registration with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (certificate # 24729), and national certification as a planner (American Institute of Certified Planners ID number 057238). He is also a licensed real estate broker in Alabama (license number 042506) and has experience in real estate development as a strategic partner.

Mr. Wisdom's military acumen is evident in his distinguished service as a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve, Corps of Engineers. He also holds the distinguished Asbestos Management Planner Certificate.

As a project manager, Mr. Wisdom's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including document checking, code review, material selection, budget cost analysis, document production, and the coordination of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering drawings and specifications. His encyclopedic understanding of the industry and meticulous attention to detail ensure that projects are executed with the utmost precision and efficiency.
