Theraplay is a team of highly skilled, passionate, and enthusiastic speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and developmental therapists who are dedicated to serving the unique needs of children in Sanford and the surrounding communities. We are committed to providing quality patient-centered and family-centered services to children with communication and other developmental impairments in a spirit of excellence. Our mission is to help children on their path to becoming functioning and flourishing individuals through cognitive skills, motor skills, social skills, and self-care.

Pediatric Speech & Language Therapy

Pediatric speech-language pathologists at Theraplay evaluate and treat children who have challenges with speaking, language comprehension, communication, developmental disorders, or physical limitations. Our therapists use a variety of evidence-based methods to assess each child's strengths and weaknesses and develop individualized treatment plans that address their specific needs. Our goal is to help children communicate effectively and confidently, so they can reach their full potential.

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Pediatric occupational therapy at Theraplay plays a key role in helping children develop cognitive skills, motor skills, social skills, and self-care. Our occupational therapists work with children to improve fine motor skills, visual-perceptual skills, sensory processing, and coordination. We use a child-centered approach that is tailored to each child's individual needs and goals. Our goal is to help children become functional and independent in their daily activities.

Pediatric Feeding Therapy

Pediatric feeding therapy at Theraplay allows trained therapists to apply a variety of methods to find out why a child is having difficulty with their eating habits and to help them move forward with feeding skills. Our therapists work with children to address sensory, oral-motor, and behavioral factors that may be affecting their feeding. We use a family-centered approach that involves parents and caregivers in the therapy process. Our goal is to help children develop healthy and enjoyable eating habits.

A Focus on Service

At Theraplay, we approach everything we do with a servant mindset. Our children and their families come first, of course. The way we serve our kids is what really matters. Our speech therapists, and occupational therapists customize their expertise to address the specific needs of each child. No two children are treated in the same way. We utilize a full-range of activities and objectives in order to measure and achieve our collective goals. As our name implies, we take a creative approach, using therapy, play, and other methods to serve our children.

The servant mindset at Theraplay extends beyond our practice. Theraplay has an ongoing history of community service in Sanford and beyond. We welcome the opportunities we have to provide resources to families in the area. We're happy to conduct workshops and seminars with local schools, civic groups, churches, agencies, practitioners, and parent organizations to help families flourish.
