Delmar Dental PC

Delmar Dental Medicine, located at 344 Delaware Avenue in Delmar, NY, has been providing dental care to the community since 1969. Our practice offers treatment to children, teens, and adults, ranging from routine care to complicated surgical cases. We strive to create a comfortable and relaxed environment for all of our patients, with massage chairs in two of our exam rooms and television sets in each one.

Meet Dr. Thomas H. Abele, DMD, FAGD

Our practice is led by Dr. Thomas H. Abele, who has the designations of DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) and FAGD (Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry). A general dentist who is a "Fellow" in the AGD has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and exemplifies the importance of quality continuing dental education. To earn the FAGD, a dentist must complete a minimum of 500 continuing dental education credit hours, pass a comprehensive exam, and have been an AGD member for three continuous years.

Advanced Dental Technology

At Delmar Dental Medicine, we utilize the latest advances in dentistry, including a 2-D digital and 3-D cone beam x-ray. This technology helps us to diagnose patients better, with clearer and easier-to-read images, while exposing patients to a minimal amount of radiation.

General Dentistry Services

Our practice provides a wide range of general dentistry services, including dental cleanings, x-rays, and complicated dental implant cases. We also offer oral surgery, root canal, dentures, and cosmetic surgery.

Dental Implants

Dr. Abele has been offering dental implants for over 30 years and is highly qualified in this area. He is a Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, diplomate in American Society of Osseointegration, a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, an Associate Fellow of the American College of Oral Implantology, and a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Research Foundation.

Conscious Sedation

Dr. Abele is certified in sedation dentistry in New York State and is a member of DOCS (Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation). Sedation dentistry is available for patients who experience anxiety while at the dentist or for patients who require a lengthy treatment. Dr. Abele will review a patient's medical history and evaluate the patient's degree of anxiety to determine the sedation protocol.

In-House Dental Lab

Our office features an in-house dental lab, allowing us to deliver higher quality work with shorter waiting periods. All crowns, bridges, partials, and dentures are made in the lab, allowing patients to replace temporary fixtures with more comfortable permanent ones in a shorter period of time.
