The Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District (GCID) stands as a testament to the pioneering spirit of water management in California's Central Valley. Established in 1883, we hold one of the earliest and largest water rights on the Sacramento River, enabling us to serve a vast expanse of farmland and surrounding communities. As the largest irrigation district in the Sacramento Valley, we manage approximately 175,000 acres, with roughly 140,000 acres dedicated to agriculture.
