Our Story
Our journey began in the early 1940s when Bert Bethune, son of the legendary Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, founded the Bethune Funeral Home. Later, Dr. Rabie Gainous, Jr., a Science Professor at Bethune-Cookman College, expanded his career to include Mortuary Science and purchased the Bethune establishment, re-naming it RJ Gainous Funeral Home. After Dr. Gainous' demise in 2001, his godson, Alexander C. Wynn, III, took over the reins and continues to manage the family business with professionalism, compassion, and integrity.
