Who We Are
Rainier Arts Center is a vibrant and inclusive performing arts center that serves the diverse community of Southeast Seattle. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space for people from all backgrounds to come together and celebrate their cultural heritage through arts and culture. Established in 1997, the Center has been a hub for cultural exchange, artistic expression, and community engagement.
Our Services
At Rainier Arts Center, we offer a wide range of services and amenities, including:
- Rentals: Our beautiful auditorium, event hall, and Columbia Room are available for rent for events, performances, and meetings. We can accommodate groups of all sizes, from intimate gatherings to large-scale events.
- Performances: We present a diverse range of performances, including concerts, plays, dance performances, and film screenings. Our stage is home to over 500 artists every year, showcasing the talents of local, national, and international artists.
- Rehearsals and Meetings: Our flexible spaces can accommodate rehearsals, meetings, and workshops for individuals and groups. With state-of-the-art equipment and amenities, our spaces are perfect for brainstorming sessions, team-building exercises, and more.
- Community Events: We host a variety of community events, including cultural celebrations, exhibitions, and festivals. These events bring people together and celebrate the diversity of our community.
- Youth Programs: We believe in empowering the next generation of artists and leaders. Our youth programs offer performance opportunities, workshops, and summer camps, providing a supportive environment for young artists to grow and thrive.
Our Community
Rainier Arts Center proudly serves the vibrant and diverse community of Southeast Seattle. Our community is home to over 84,000 people from 40 ethnic groups, speaking 59 different languages. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space for all, celebrating the richness of our community's cultural heritage.
About SEEDArts
Rainier Arts Center is a program of SEEDArts, a department of SouthEast Effective Development (SEED). SEEDArts runs SEED's arts and cultural programs, presenting diverse arts experiences, nurturing local artists, and infusing creativity into the community. SEED's mission is to improve the quality of life in Southeast Seattle by creating partnerships and inspiring investments in affordable housing, arts and culture, and economic development.
