At Studio 54 Hair Designs, we believe that beauty is not just about how you look, but also about how you feel. Our Story
Studio 54 Hair Designs was founded in 1996 by Ronnie Thrasher and Tod McClelland. Their journey began in Detroit, Michigan, where they met in 1990. Tod graduated from beauty school in 1989, and Ronnie followed suit, graduating in 1991. Together, they worked at salons and taught at the Michigan College of Beauty. In 1995, they made the move to Eldon, Missouri, to pursue their dream. With just $100 in their bank account and a shared vehicle, they turned an old Casey's gas station into the salon we know and love today.
Since our humble beginnings, we have become an integral part of our community. In the early 2000s, we partnered with Aveda, aligning ourselves with a goal to be kinder to the earth. We continued to grow, expanding to the Camden on the Lake resort in 2008. This enabled us to offer a range of services, including massage, manicuring, pedicuring, facials, and waxing.
Unfortunately, in January 2023, Tod was diagnosed with ALS. He passed away in March, surrounded by loved ones. The outpouring of love and support from our community has been a beautiful thing.

Our Team
Our team is made up of skilled and passionate stylists who are dedicated to their craft. Ronnie has been a stylist since 1991 and has been with Studio 54 Hair Designs since its inception. Jesse is a barber and cosmetologist with a love for textured haircuts and high-impact hair color. Amber is a cosmetologist with over 10 years of experience and a passion for the holistic side of Aveda.
