Who We Are: Our Story

The Holland Funeral and Cremation Service has been serving the local community since 1934, providing a wide range of services tailored to the diverse needs and requests of the families we serve. Founded by B.D. Holland, Jr. and Raymond Grimmer, the funeral home was built with the commitment to support and care for the community in times of loss. Over the years, the funeral home has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of the community while maintaining the core values of quality, dignity, and compassion.

B.D. Holland, Jr. and his wife, Gertrude Whitehead Holland, became the sole owners of the funeral home in 1949, and their son, Barton D. Holland III, joined the business after graduating from the Eckels College of Mortuary Science in 1957. Bart served as funeral director and embalmer, carrying on the family legacy of care and commitment. Following the passing of his parents, Bart became the sole owner and funeral director, and in 1973, his wife, Margaret Marshall Holland, joined him as a partner in the business.
