Our story began when a board-certified dermatologist, Elisabeth Shim, MD, found herself unable to find suitable, effective products for her own sensitive skin. This led her to develop a custom-formulated line for herself, her patients, and her physician peers. The company was founded in 2007, with a mission to create products that are not only effective but also safe and natural.

Verdure is the first dermatologist-developed brand with a focus on natural ingredients. We believe in simplicity and versatility, and all our products are botanical, synthetic, or marine-derived. There are no animal-derived products in our range, and we ensure that our products are paraben-free, propylene glycol-free, petrolatum-free, and ethanolamine-free. Our mineral-based, patent-pending sunscreen with Broccoli and Tea extracts has met the highest rating for water-resistance, and we are proud to be listed with the American Contact Dermatitis Society product database.
