Empowering you to create your own beautiful garden
Lowell Garden Design is a company dedicated to helping you create an interesting and functional garden environment tailored to your lifestyle. Our team, led by the designer and 'garden coach', aims to solve landscape problems and empower clients to feel confident in their own garden. We work closely with our clients to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring that the final result is not only beautiful but also practical and easy to maintain.
Design Services
Our design services cover a wide range of areas, from initial concept development to final installation. We work with you every step of the way to ensure that your vision becomes a reality. Our design process typically begins with a consultation, where we discuss your goals, budget, and site conditions. From there, we develop a concept plan and planting design, which we refine through a series of revisions until you are completely satisfied. Once the design is finalized, we can help you find the right contractors to bring your garden to life.
Garden Coaching
In addition to our design services, we also offer garden coaching. This service is designed to help you become a more confident and skilled gardener. We work with you to identify problems in your landscape and develop solutions that you can implement yourself. This can include everything from pruning and planting to pest management and irrigation. Our goal is to empower you to take control of your garden and make the most of your outdoor space.
Projects
One of our recent projects was a renovation in Bellingham, where we worked with the homeowner and a stone artist to design plantings that would complement the new hardscapes. The steep slope of the site presented unique challenges, requiring us to work with a geotech engineer to ensure the stability of the slope. The final result was a stunning garden that integrated seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
Another notable project was the creation of an organic vegetable garden at the Burlington Little School. The garden, which consisted primarily of annual edibles, was cultivated by the staff and students and provided a valuable learning opportunity for the students. We worked closely with the school to design a garden that was not only functional but also visually appealing.
Plants We Love (and Hate)
At Lowell Garden Design, we are passionate about plants. However, not all plants are created equal. One plant that we love is the Big Leaf Maple, a deciduous tree that provides beautiful fall color and valuable habitat for wildlife. On the other hand, we are not fans of Vinca Minor, a creeping groundcover that can become invasive and difficult to control.
