Our History

AJC Tools & Equipment was founded by Anthony Joseph Crookston, who invented the original AJC Hatchet. The hatchet was initially made for his own crew, but as its advantages became known, he began selling it to other roofers. Over the years, we have continued to expand our product line, adding tools designed by A.J.'s son, Jim, who took over the company in 1962. Jim, a successful roofing contractor, understood the needs of the industry and designed tools that would meet those needs.

Today, AJC is still family-owned and operated. Our goal remains the same: to design and manufacture high-quality, innovative roofing tools and magnetic sweepers.
