Freund Funeral Home

Freund Funeral Home has been a pillar of the Cuero community and the surrounding areas since 1924. Established by Josie Freund, the funeral home has since been passed down through generations, maintaining its commitment to providing exceptional funeral services to families in their time of need. J. D. and Merle Bramlette became the owners in 1946, with Josie continuing to help operate the business until her death in 1988. In 1972, Jay Bramlette joined the family business after graduating from mortuary school, and in 1976, Freund Funeral Home was incorporated. After the passing of J. D. Bramlette, Jr. in 1979 and Merle Bramlette in 1998, Jay became the sole owner.

In 2005, Eric Draper started working for Freund Funeral Home, later attending mortuary school and becoming a licensed funeral director. As Jay began contemplating retirement, he sought to ensure the business remained in the family. Eric and Dawn Draper purchased the funeral home in April 2010, becoming the fourth generation to own the establishment. Today, the Drapers continue the long-standing traditions of Freund Funeral Home, offering compassionate and personalized services to every family they serve.

Our funeral home is conveniently located on the corner of Gonzales and Courthouse in Cuero, Texas, and our dedicated team of professionals is always ready to help families plan a meaningful service that reflects their loved one's life and legacy.
