At World Vision Optometry, we are dedicated to providing our patients with professional eye care services in a comfortable and friendly environment. Our commitment to one-on-one attention sets us apart from others in the field. Since our establishment in 1997, we have been serving Oakland, Alameda County with the highest level of eye care.

Our staff, led by Dr. Mihwa Kim, is trained to serve patients of all ages and ensure they receive the best possible care. Dr. Kim is a licensed and TPA-certified optometrist who graduated from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She has been practicing in the Bay Area since opening her first practice in Oakland in 1997 and relocated to our current location in the Old Historic SEARS building in 2003. Dr. Kim can diagnose eye problems and provide treatment for a variety of eye diseases, working closely with Glaucoma, Cataract, and Retinal specialists in the Bay Area. She also provides consultation and co-management for LASIK (Laser Vision Correction) patients.

Our Services

At World Vision Optometry, we offer a wide range of services to meet all your eye care needs. These include comprehensive eye examinations utilizing computerized equipment, diagnose and treatment of ocular diseases, co-management of cataract and refractive laser surgery, contact lens fittings/evaluations, and dispensing of designer eye wear to affordable eye wear. We also provide minor adjustments and repairs, and outside prescriptions are filled as needed.

We accept various payment methods including Cash, Personal check, Visa, Master card, ATM, and Apple Pay. We participate with VSP, Eyemed, Humana, Alameda Alliance, and Medicare, and our staff speaks English and Korean to cater to our diverse patient base.

Location and Office Hours

World Vision Optometry is conveniently located in the Old Historic SEARS building in Oakland, CA. Our office hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. We are closed on Friday and Sunday to allow our staff time to rest and recharge.
