Our History

Founded in 1939 by Barney Jordan and his brothers, Cherokee, Inc. has been a family-owned business for three generations. From humble beginnings to becoming one of South Carolina's oldest road building companies still in operation today, our journey has been marked by a dedication to excellence, hard work, and a passion for building.

Our Services

Our primary goal is to finish construction projects on time and within budget. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including highway construction, military construction, industrial construction, commercial construction, parks and recreation construction, and residential construction. Additionally, we provide construction management services, including design/builds, and work closely with architects and developers to ensure seamless project execution.

One of our featured services is hydro excavation, a safe and non-destructive method of digging that utilizes highly pressurized water and an industrial-strength vacuum to extract soil and debris. This precision technique allows us to work efficiently and accurately, minimizing the risk of damage to existing underground utilities.
