Transforming smiles, transforming lives, one patient at a time.

The Virginia Community College System (VCCS) is a network of 23 community colleges institutions across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Established in 1966, the VCCS has a long-standing history of providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality education and training to Virginia's residents. Our institutions serve as a gateway to higher education, offering college credit degrees, courses, and programs, online programs, and dual enrollment options for high school students. Our mission is to provide dynamic and comprehensive educational and workforce training programs that build a qualified workforce, promote economic development, and change lives.

Academic Programs

The VCCS offers a wide range of academic programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our students. We offer college credit degrees, courses, and programs in various fields, including business, information technology, health sciences, liberal arts, and skilled trades. Our online programs provide flexible options for students to earn a degree or certificate entirely online. Our dual enrollment programs allow high school students to earn college credits while still in high school.

At the VCCS, we are committed to preparing our students for transfer to a four-year institution. We have transfer agreements with colleges and universities across Virginia and beyond, making it easy for our students to transfer and continue their education. Our transfer programs provide guided pathways for students to transfer and earn a bachelor's degree while saving time and money.

We also offer workforce training programs that provide short-term training for in-demand careers. Our credit2careers program allows students to earn college credits while gaining workforce experience, providing a pathway to a college degree and a career.

Serving Veterans

The VCCS is committed to serving veterans and their families. Our military-friendly institutions offer various services and resources to support veterans' education and career goals. Our credit for prior learning program allows veterans to earn college credits for their military experience, and our dual enrollment programs provide options for active-duty military personnel to earn college credits.

Access and Affordability

At the VCCS, we believe that education should be accessible and affordable for all. Our institutions offer some of the lowest tuition rates in the nation, and we provide various financial assistance options, including grants, scholarships, and loans. We also offer resources to help students afford college, including our cost calculator and transfer grants.
