Our Story

At Sammy's Pizza, we're not just about serving great food, we're about creating memories and traditions with family and friends. Our story begins with our founder, Sam Perrella, who had a vision to bring a piece of Italy to the United States. As World War II soldiers returned home from Italy, they brought with them tales of their favorite food: pizza. Sam, a former miner, saw an opportunity and ran with it.

Our menu features a wide variety of options, from award-winning pizzas to pastas, appetizers, sandwiches, stromboli, broasted chicken, fish, and desserts. We're proud to offer a weekday all-you-can-eat lunch buffet and a weekend brunch menu. Our History

Sammy's Pizza has been a North Dakota tradition since 1959 when Dave Shomento's parents, Albert and Carmella (Perrella) Shomento, first opened the restaurant in Minot. The restaurant moved to its current location in 1970 and has been family-owned and operated ever since. Today, the business is owned and operated by Dave and Tarryll Shomento's daughter, Angie, and her husband, Shannon Osborn.
