Mayo Construction is a proudly employee-owned and operated contractor with a rich history rooted in providing exceptional asphalt paving and restoration services across North Dakota and the surrounding region. From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leader

Our journey began in Cavalier, North Dakota, with our founder, Joe Mayo, who initially embarked on a custom harvesting venture. However, he quickly recognized his passion and aptitude for road construction, a decision that would shape the future of our company for generations to come. During World War II, Joe patriotically sold his equipment to support the war effort.

Post-war, his son, John, rebuilt the company, expanding its capabilities and laying the groundwork for future growth. In the late 1970s, Joe's grandsons, Tim, Greg, and Joe, took the helm, steering the company towards its current focus on asphalt paving. Today, Mayo Construction remains a family-owned and operated business, driven by the same core values of integrity, dedication, and a commitment to excellence that have guided us for nearly a century.

Mayo Construction distinguishes itself through its unwavering commitment to innovation and adopting the latest asphalt paving technologies. We invest heavily in advanced equipment and training, ensuring our team stays at the forefront of the industry.

Our two portable asphalt paving plants and auxiliary equipment allow us to handle a substantial volume of projects, laying down nearly a million tons of paving material annually. Our comprehensive service offerings encompass the full spectrum of asphalt paving needs, from hot mix asphalt production and laydown to milling and microsurfacing. We are proud to be pioneers in offering microsurfacing services in North Dakota, providing a highly effective and cost-efficient solution for preserving and extending the lifespan of asphalt surfaces.
