Connecticut Guaranty Associates

The Connecticut Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association is a statutory entity created in 1972 to provide protection to Connecticut residents who are holders of life and health insurance policies, individual annuities, and healthcare center subscriber contracts and certificates. Our mission is to ensure that policyholders receive the coverage they need, even in the event of an insurance company insolvency.

As a non-profit organization, we are committed to providing prompt and fair payment of claims to eligible policyholders. Our services include continuing coverage, transferring policies to another insurance company, and providing financial support to ensure that policyholders receive the benefits they are entitled to. We work closely with the Insurance Commissioner and other regulatory bodies to ensure that our services are in compliance with Connecticut law and regulations.

Our History

The Connecticut Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association was established in 1972, when the Connecticut legislature enacted the Connecticut Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association Act. Since then, we have been dedicated to protecting the interests of Connecticut policyholders. Our members include all insurers licensed to sell life insurance, accident and health insurance, and individual annuities in the state of Connecticut, as well as healthcare centers authorized to issue any kind of insurance in Connecticut or conduct any healthcare business.
