Meet Our Attorney

Paul Louis Bidwell, a graduate of both Wake Forest University and its acclaimed law school, began his career as a prosecutor for five years. Since entering private practice in 1991, he has litigated some of the highest profile cases in Western North Carolina over the last twenty years, in both State and Federal Court. In addition to his criminal and civil litigation practice, Paul maintains an office practice providing advice and services for individuals and corporate clients alike.

Named to the Registry of Pre-eminent Lawyers in America by Martindale-Hubbel, Paul has received Martindale-Hubbel's highest peer review rating: AV. He has also served as the Chairman of the Buncombe County Historic Resource Commission and as a member of the Juvenile Evaluation Center Advisory Committee. In 2021, he was recognized as one of the Top 100 Criminal Defense Attorneys by The National Trial Lawyers.

Paul has been married to Carolyn Cameron Bidwell since 1988. They have two children, Katherine and Patrick, who are both graduates of esteemed universities. Katherine is a stay-at-home mom of their two young grandchildren, while Patrick is currently practicing law in Greensboro, North Carolina. Paul and his family have been residents of the Fairview community and the Reynolds school district since 1997.
