Welcome to Utopia Preschool, a play-based program in San Francisco that supports children in a safe, inclusive, and inviting classroom environment. Our mission is to encourage curiosity, kindness, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. We strive to create an atmosphere that values, understands, and respects the cultures, languages, and diversity of families that make up our preschool community.

We encourage parent involvement, participation, and collaboration, which creates an essential bond between home and school. Our goal is to promote each child's love of learning and help them develop a positive self-image and an awareness of others.

Our Mission Statement

Utopia, St. Thomas More's Preschool, is dedicated to educating and supporting each child in our care. We recognize parents and caregivers as primary educators and provide intentional curriculum that further supports each child's development in a safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment. Inspired by gospel values, we facilitate social, emotional, academic, and physical growth and encourage our students to be curious, lifelong learners.

Our Services

We offer a 10-month program from mid-August through June, operating from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We provide 12:00 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:30 pm pick-up options. Our preschool operates on a 1:6 teacher-to-child ratio, ensuring the safety and well-being of each child in our care. All of our lead teachers have a college degree and a child development permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
