Townsend-Evans Insurance has a rich history that spans over nine decades. The agency was founded in 1926 by four brothers: Leonard, Raymond, Hobart, and Wilburn Townsend, who formed the Townsend Insurance Agency. After some time, Wilburn acquired the agency from his brothers and continued to operate it until his death in 1969. At this time, Wilburn's daughter Janell Evans and her husband Jim Evans took over the business, renaming it Townsend-Evans Insurance.

Jim Evans has been a part of the agency for over 50 years and his leadership and experience have been instrumental in the agency's continued success. In 1996, Jim was joined by his son, Alan Evans, who bought half of the agency in 2017 from his father to carry on the family legacy. Alan serves as the agency manager and is a commercial, personal, and health insurance producer. Amy Price is a personal lines agent who has been with the company for 25 years, and Samantha Hendrix joined the staff in 2015 as a bookkeeper and customer service representative. Together, our four-person insurance team has almost 100 years of insurance experience.
