Our team, led by owner Shere Hanlon, is dedicated to providing exceptional gardening solutions that not only enhance the beauty of your outdoor space but also promote a healthy environment for your plants.

Our Story

Shere's passion for gardening began in high school, and after completing a Bachelor of Science and gaining diverse work experiences, she pursued her original interest in Horticulture/Landscape Design. This led to the establishment of Green Escapes Gardening LLC in 2011. Today, Shere, along with her husband, son, and their family, continues to live and work in Pittsfield Township, surrounded by their own gardens and a small menagerie of pets.

Plant Health Care (PHC) Practices

Our team implements Plant Health Care techniques to maintain or improve your landscape using the most cost-effective and environmentally sensitive practices possible. This approach focuses on creating an environment conducive to healthy plants, recognizing that the care of each living organism, including turf, can affect the health of other plants in that landscape. Examples of PHC practices include mulching for plant health and less weeds, proper mulch depth around trees, and correct irrigation cycles and water placement.

Education and Certifications

Shere has received extensive education in science and horticulture, including a Bachelor of Science and an Associate in Horticulture and Landscape Design. She has also completed the MSU Extension Master Gardener Program and is a member of the Association of Professional Gardeners. This combination of real-world and classroom experience ensures that our clients receive expert advice and guidance.

Services

Our services include maintenance, consultation, design, and installation. For maintenance, we offer hourly rates for tasks such as weeding, pruning, and deadheading. For installation, our rates are slightly higher to reflect the complexity of planting annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees. Consultation services involve discussing client needs, accessing the site, making recommendations, and providing plant information. Design services include creating a plan for the client to install themselves or hire out, starting at $1,000.

Green Escapes Gardening LLC carries liability insurance and workers comp, ensuring that our clients are protected and our team is safeguarded.
