At JPS Woodworking, we believe that art is not limited to paintings or sculptures. Our pieces, crafted in wood, are unique works of functional art that can be used and appreciated every day. We strive to design and build only the highest quality pieces, constantly learning and improving our techniques to bring you the best.

Career

My journey in woodworking began in 1996, and since then, it has evolved into a passion for many different aspects of the craft. I enjoy working in fancy veneers from all over the world, but I strive to make my designs simple so as not to overshadow the beauty of the wood. I create everything from jewelry boxes and humidors, to large built-ins and custom bars, and everything in between. I also enjoy turning wood as a distraction from making furniture.

Furniture

Furniture is the mainstay of my business. Most of the pieces here are commissions, but some are speculative pieces that are for sale. I would be happy to design the custom piece of your dreams. From casework, tables, seating, to miscellaneous pieces, we have a wide variety of furniture to offer.

Turnings

Most of my time in the shop is spent making furniture and other larger pieces, but when I need a break, I head to the lathe to create some bowls and such. The multi-piece stacked laminations are a second life of sorts: They are made from the many piles of offcuts and scrap in the shop that would otherwise be discarded or burned. It's nice to make something so beautiful from a pile of "waste".

Photography

In recent years, I have taken up photography. Here are some of my favorite images. Any of these images are available for purchase in large or small sizes, matted and framed in either black aluminum frames or custom-made wood frames. I try to capture images of things both unique and mundane and present them with a different perspective to create a visual interest.

Pieces for Sale

These pieces were made on speculation and have been in galleries and shows. Although they look great in the galleries, they would look even better in your home. Please contact me for dimensions or if you have questions on any of the pieces below.
