At Sloan T. Howard Photography, we understand the importance of capturing the perfect moment. As a professional photographer, I, Sloan T. Howard, have dedicated my life to mastering the art of photography. With over two decades of experience, I have worked with numerous clients and honed my skills in various styles and techniques.

My journey began when I graduated from the State University of New York at Purchase in 1991 with a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts in both Photography and Sculpture. Although I excelled in both fields, Photography has always been my first love. Throughout my career, I have worked with successful commercial photographers with Fortune 500 clients, assisting them on various projects and learning from their experiences. This allowed me to gain extensive knowledge of the latest technologies and techniques in the industry.

In the following years, I worked tirelessly, dedicating myself to mastering my craft. I spent fourteen hours a day, seven days a week, working with top photographers in Connecticut and New York. This period of my life was incredibly challenging, but it also provided me with the opportunity to learn and grow as a photographer and a businessman. I developed a deep understanding of how to connect with clients and respect their needs while also learning which techniques would best suit my own unique style as a freelance photographer.

As I finished honing my skills, I began to develop my own client base. I started to form my own opinions, styles, and techniques, which quickly became a passion of mine. My previous employers soon became my peers, and my years of connections contributed to my growing client base. My clients included almost every business in town, and I was well on my way to establishing myself as a cutting-edge and unique professional photographer.

My big break came when the primary photographer for Taunton Press, a large publishing company, relocated. I was able to step into her role as a freelance photographer, and this opportunity allowed me to surround myself with a full studio. It was then that I decided it was time to begin purchasing my own equipment. One of my first assignments for Taunton Press was to shoot a "how-to" book in a woodworking shop. This experience not only further honed my skills but also gave me the confidence to continue pursuing my passion for photography.
