Our team is led by Dr. Kurt Halverson, the founder and owner of Hilo Pain Clinic. With a diverse educational background that includes Los Angeles Chiropractic College, Northwestern College of Chiropractic, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, East Carolina University, and St. Olaf College, Dr. Halverson has built a portfolio of experience that allows him to offer superior care. He is board-eligible in Chiropractic Orthopedics, a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Examiners. His memberships in professional organizations such as the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists, the American Academy of Head, Neck, Facial Pain & TMJ Orthopedics, Flying Doctors of America, and the Chiropractic Rehabilitation Association further demonstrate his commitment to excellence in chiropractic care.

Joining Dr. Halverson is Dr. John L. Turner, a board-certified neurological surgeon with extensive experience in trauma and elective surgery. Dr. Turner has been practicing on the Big Island since 1981 and has built a reputation for providing exceptional care for those with head, spinal, and nerve injuries, as well as a variety of conditions from brain tumors to herniated spinal discs. He is now dedicated to neurological/neurosurgical consultations and pain management for motor vehicular injury victims and those hurt while working. Dr. Turner's expertise in pain medications, muscle relaxants, and ultrasound-guided procedures has made him a valuable asset to our team.

Our clinic also benefits from the skills of Scott Lee, a registered nurse and licensed acupuncturist. Scott graduated from the University of the Virgin Islands with a Nursing Degree and has since built a successful practice. His extensive experience in Tibetan Medicine, coupled with his Bachelors of Science in Biology and Masters in Acupuncture, has made him a respected and integral member of our team.
