Our History

For over a century, Olson's Furniture Store has been a cherished part of the Fergus Falls community. Our story began in the early 1900s when Conrad Skalman and Lars Olson founded the Underwood Furniture Company. Tragedy struck when Skalman passed away after World War I, leaving Lars to take the helm of the business. He renamed it Olson's Furniture Store and dedicated himself to its success.

Lars's son, Guy, joined the family business in his youth, lending a hand with odd jobs and even crafting picture frames. Together, Lars and Guy worked tirelessly to build the company, their hard work ethic and commitment to quality resonating with the community. Recognizing the importance of shared ideals and strong values, Bob joined the team, adding his own dedication to serving the Fergus Falls community. Throughout the years, Olson's Furniture Store has been known for its exceptional customer service and unwavering dedication to family business ethics.

These principles built a reputation for honesty and integrity that has been passed down through generations. Today, Keith, representing the legacy of the Olson family, continues to uphold the high standards of commitment and service that have made Olson's a trusted name.
