Superior Healthplan

Superior HealthPlan is a managed care organization that has been serving the health care needs of Texans since 2004. We are a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, one of the largest health care companies in the United States. Our mission is to provide access to quality health care services for our members, while also offering support and resources for our providers.

At Superior HealthPlan, we offer a variety of health insurance plans to meet the needs of our members. This includes options through the Health Insurance Marketplace, as well as Medicaid and CHIP plans, Medicare-Medicaid Plans, and Medicare Advantage Plans. We are committed to providing our members with comprehensive coverage, as well as value-added services that can help them live healthier lives.

In addition to our member services, we also offer a range of resources for our providers. This includes tools to help with network participation, prior authorization, and billing and coding. We are dedicated to building strong relationships with our providers and working together to deliver high-quality care to our members.

Cybersecurity Incident Update

On February 21, 2024, Change Healthcare, a vendor that provides services to Superior HealthPlan, experienced a cybersecurity incident. While the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is not yet complete, Superior HealthPlan has started the process to notify impacted customers and has shared a website that provides additional information. Superior HealthPlan continues to offer credit monitoring and identity protection services, as well as a dedicated contact center to address questions. For Providers

Superior HealthPlan values our relationships with our providers and offers a range of resources to support them. This includes tools for network participation, prior authorization, and billing and coding. Providers can find their account manager, request or update prior authorization, and access important policies and procedures.

We also offer a secure portal for providers to access member information and submit claims. In addition, we offer regular training and manuals to help providers stay up-to-date on the latest best practices and regulations.

Superior HealthPlan is dedicated to providing access to quality health care services for our members.
