Our History

Our journey began in 1981, amidst an economic recession, when our founders, John Sinclair and Jim Hille, decided to establish a practice that would focus on providing personalized architectural services. Our first project was a new church for the congregation of 1st Church of Christ Scientist in Lincoln, which despite its modest size, was a significant achievement for our young practice. By 1982, we had moved into our first office space on the 10th floor of the Stuart building, where we shared the cost of a receptionist with a young engineer.

In 1984, we expanded our team and moved to a new office space, marking a significant milestone in our growth. Over the years, we have continued to grow and evolve, with a commitment to staying at the forefront of architectural trends and technologies. Today, our firm is led by partners Dan Grasso AIA, LEED AP, NCARB; Lizabeth Bavitz, AIA, LEED AP; Michael Penn, AIA, LC, LEED AP; David Quade, AIA, CSI, and Chad Kruse, AIA.

Our Services

We offer a broad range of architectural services, including master planning and programming, feasibility studies, construction documentation and administration, building information modeling (BIM), sustainability and green building design, and interior design. Some of our notable projects include the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Mabel Lee Hall Replacement, the Glenn Korff School of Music, the Norfolk Iron and Metal Headquarters, and the Dormie Network's Dormie Club Clubhouse & Pro Shop.
