Our History
The Otjen Law Firm was founded by Theobald Otjen in 1881. Theobald was born to German immigrants in Michigan and graduated from the law department of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1875. He was admitted to the bar at Ann Arbor in 1875 and commenced practice in Detroit, Michigan. Theobald served as a member of the common council of Milwaukee from 1887 to 1894 and as a trustee of the Milwaukee Public Library from 1887 to 1891, and a trustee of the public museum from 1891 to 1894.
