The Meditation Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals to change their lives through the practice of meditation. Founded in 2009, our mission is to provide free meditation classes and training to anyone, anywhere. Our vision is to create a world where people slow down and pay attention to their breath, learning to deal with stress, anger, anxiety, sadness, and depression through the practice of daily meditation.
Our Story
The Meditation Initiative was founded by Jeffrey Zlotnik, based on his experience leading meditation throughout San Diego, starting with bringing meditation into the prisons in 2003. Since then, we have served over 75,000 people for free. Our organization has seen firsthand the transformative power of meditation, and we believe that it has the potential to make a significant impact on individuals and society as a whole.
Our Services
We offer a range of programs and services to help individuals develop a consistent meditation practice. Our Corporate Workshops provide a unique opportunity for companies to introduce meditation into the workplace, reducing stress and increasing productivity. Our Facilitator Training Program teaches individuals how to lead meditation classes and share the benefits of meditation with others. We also offer our Meditation Outreach Program, which takes meditation classes to underserved communities and populations.
