Dr. Joseph I. Fernandez, M.D.Dr. Fernandez graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery at the American Sports Medicine Institute with Lawrence Lemak, M.D, James Andrew, M.D., and William Clancy, M.D. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. With over 15 years of private practice experience, Dr. Fernandez is the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic for Baptist Hospital of Miami and a sports medicine specialist who specializes in sport related injuries and arthroscopic surgery. He has lectured all over the world on topics related to sports injuries of the knees and shoulders and has been a tournament physician for the Key Biscayne Lipton, NASDAQ, and Sony Erickson since 1995. He has also been a master instructor in shoulder surgery for the Arthroscopy Association of North America and routinely treats world class professional, college, and high school athletes.
Matthieu D. Myers, MMS, PA-C
Matthieu D. Myers, MMS, PA-C was born and raised in South Florida. He attended Coral Gables High School and was in the International Studies French program, where he graduated with honors. He then attended Louisiana State University, where he was a student-athlete and majored in Kinesiology and Biology. He was a member of the LSU swimming team, where he competed at the national level and received accolades in the long-distance events. He was awarded the Southeastern Conference scholar-athlete award from 1998-2001. Following his undergraduate degree, he returned to South Florida, obtaining his Masters in Medical Science at Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant program in 2007. He is a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and has maintained his Certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
